About Samantha Tako
Samantha E. Tako, Esq.
Senior Attorney
Sam is a graduate of the University of North Dakota as well as the University of St. Thomas School of Law. After graduation, she served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Melissa M. Saterbak, District Court Judge for the 10th Judicial District in Minnesota, where she sharpened her legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
After her clerkship, Sam joined the St. Paul City Attorney’s Office as an Assistant City Attorney in the criminal division. In that role, she primarily focused on prosecuting domestic violence-related offenses, gaining extensive courtroom experience, and honing her advocacy skills. These roles provided her with a well-rounded foundation that informs and enriches her work today.

Sam is driven by a deep commitment to public service and her passion for supporting nonprofit organizations began when she was a student in Legal for Good’s nonprofit legal clinic at the University of St. Thomas School of Law. During her time in the nonprofit legal clinic, Sam gained early exposure to nonprofit law and the vital role nonprofits play in strengthening communities.

When Sam isn’t working on a client matter, she can most likely be found curled up with a good book and her cats, Ivy and Olive, doing arts and crafts, spending time with friends and family, or taking care of her collection of houseplants.
