About Deb Sherrer

Deb is a graduate of Point Park University, Carnegie Mellon University, and Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Following law school, Deb served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Stacy Stennes, District Court Judge for the 2nd Judicial District in Minnesota, where she worked in both civil and criminal assignments.

During law school, Deb was a law clerk for the Anoka County Attorney’s Office Civil Division, where she provided research assistance for civil matters as well as drafted appellant and respondent briefs for criminal matters. In addition, Deb served as an extern for Community Mediation Minnesota and Founders Legal.

Prior to enrolling in law school, Deb served in several nonprofit leadership roles, having nearly 20 years combined experience working as the Director of Plays for New Audiences at Children’s Theatre Company, General Manager for the Weston Playhouse Theatre Company, and Director of Finance and HR for Charleston Stage. Deb’s background in nonprofit operations, management, human resources, and board governance is what led her to law school and makes her uniquely suited to advise nonprofit organizations as an attorney at Legal for Good.

Deb loves coffee, spending time with friends, and serving others. When not working on a client matter, Deb can most likely be found volunteering with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, or with the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT), where she coordinates the Resume Doctors Booth and a series of Hands On Labs at the national conference each year.
